Succulent plants, native to very dry areas of the tropics and subtropics, adapted to a limited availability of water by developing thick roots, leaves, and stems. These roots, stems, and leaves collect and store water in order to survive long periods of drought. Succulent plants have a very swollen appearance which is why its nickname is the “fat plant.” These plants need little water or humidity, like bright indirect light, and even some morning sun. Some examples of indoor succulent plants are: kalanchoes, clivias, bromeliads, hoyas, and peperomias.
